Espanyol fans would certainly NOT have celebrated this victory. The rivalry is nowhere near as big as Barca-Real Madrid, or Betis-Sevilla.
Although you're right in that Barca's victory was seen as a victory for Catalunya, Espanyol more of a Spanish team (hence their name). They were the first team to be formed in the area from Spanish players, whereas Barca was formed with foreign players right from the start.
In fact it was not until 1911 that the club bought their first ever non-Spanish players - three English guys from Plumstead FC.

its quite a big rivalry, on par with everton - liverpool. but not as big as the rivalry between barca and madrid.
oh and by the way valencia are going to win the league this season

i think barcelona is the strongest team because thay always give it 110% and they have the best player in the world and they have a good defence and good strikers so i think barcelona are the strongest team and the best
