Men and women both try to be on their best behavior during the dating part of a relationship. When it progresses to marriage, the comfort zone opens up and if they have been suppressing any behaviors the true colors are shown. It's called casting aside the act and becoming your true self. Some people are the same in dating and in marriage, but that's rare!

Everyone changes after marriage. The strongest marital relationship is the one that can grow with changes as the two individuals grow and mature instead of fighting change in the effort to preserve a moment or season that was in the past.

Often, the amount of actual change in who a person is after marriage is not that large. The difference is actually in their presentation of themselves. When we are dating, we tend to put our best traits forward and hide or downplay our faults. In marriage, as we grow more comfortable with our spouses, we feel more free to be ourselves and let them know the whole person.

The changes that occur in women (and men) during marriage are not a steady stream. They often come in bursts, sometimes large and sometimes small. The best advice I can give to any married couple (or single person, for that matter) is to recognize that changing is a part of life, and to work to make that change a change for the better.

Everyone changes after marriage! This is why you should know your partner very well, before marriage!
If you love one another, truly love, then you can work through differences that will appear later on.
Too many ppl take marriage for granted, since divorce is so easily obtained these days.It is like branding a cow, then selling it off at an auction & buying a new one!
We all have our own needs & desires, the trick is to get with a person who is unselfish & can meld with us & we with them.

Okay we'll try to make this easy.

PEOPLE CHANGE. Married, single, divorced whatever,

PEOPLE CHANGE! Because they are people and they are breathing.

People who no longer change might as well be dead because they have stopped living.
All experience influences your personality. An experience like marriage changes one a lot.

The biggest problem we have today is the large number of people who cannot deal with their partners change and learn to accept and nurture it.

Well - I got to know my husband more and more (especially moving to his hometown of Toronto - I'm from NYC) and I totally fell in love with him all over again.

Our marriage went through trials and tribulations ( I almost died last year) and hell and back. However, we made a decisive choice to be there for each other and move upward and not down. His love and loyalty gives me sooo much energy to be the best wife that I could be.
It makes me want to keep my fit/slim figure, hair and make up neat. And ALWAYS having him coming back for more (wink) My husband is the BEST! And he deserves nothing less!

I don't ever want to be a nagging, selfish, controlling ***** so I make a conscious effort to calm my mind each day and express my gratitude to him.

From a woman's point of view, I think it's cause we get comfortable. I gotta be honest, we get comfy thinking that "he loves me no matter if I walk out of the bathroom looking like I got assaulted by a green martian"! And sometimes, we forget that we haven't won him. We just have him where we want him.

Hope that's what you were looking for!
