As me and my brother celebrate our birthdays next week, we've booked next Friday off work (2/3/07) and instead of buying each other a present, we're going out for the day. We live near Birmingham and want ideas for things to do for the day that are a bit different but not too expensive (apart from spending the day in the local!) Any ideas?

Go to a skating rink and goof around. Order dessert at your fave restaurant and count that as your b day cake. Split breifly in the same shopping center and challenge each other to find the silliest gift (on a budget) you can that reflects the others personality. Hanging with fam (sometimes) and a day of on a Friday is awesome as it it. Have fun!

I would get out a map, select two or three little villages or areas where I had never been, do an internet search and come up with places to go.
Not too much structure, only ideas. A free flowing day of new things to do and see.
