Yeah I found out what the petcock is but the guy I bought it from says something like it's electric and I don't use it anymore cause everything has been redone on it, like it can start in the off position.

There should be a bolt/nut at the tab on the back of the fuel tank. Remove that, there might be 2 then disconnect the fuel line at the petcock and plug the line. Make sure you turn off the petcock first. then from the back lift up and pull toward the rear. There are 2 places in the front where the tank catches.
You can go to Yamaha motors on line and look at the parts blow up for this bike and see what I am talking about.

Just look harder. You haven't looked hard enough for attaching points. Find all of them....take the fuel line off the petcock and remove the tank. It ain't magic or rocket science.

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer. Viragos come in many sizes and lots of years.

If it was my bike I would take the tank off and drain the gas out through a coffee filter back into a gas can. I wouldn't want that kind of junk floating around in my bike.
