You'd be funny if I didn't think others might take you seriously. You need to end all of your sarcastic remarks with "j/k", just to be safe. Which socialist countries have worse standards of living than the U.S?......all of them.

Venezuela, North Korea(slightly more communistic), Cuba, China(slowly turning capitalistic), Vietnam, Bangladesh, Syria, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Turkmenistan, Zambia, Laos, Belarus. The problem is economic freedom and political freedoms go hand in hand. I would truly vote for Hillary if big government could solve the world's problems but these lies are never fulfilled. The sad thing is capitalism does not create greed or wants, human nature does! Jealousy can be found in every nation, communistic, socialistic, or capitalistic. The competitive markets are what protects freedoms and builds the highest efficiencies. I'm sorry but I believe the "collective group" does more harm than good in most cases. I don't believe affirmative action is going to help solve long-run racism, only increases it by taking away voluntary interaction! I don't believe high internal government costs will help ensure scarcity while reducing investments and supressing productive job growth. Cuba is poor because of socialism, not because the capitalistic world is holding them down. Africa is rotting in government control and this "aid" never gets to the people. What needs to happen is an expansion of rights and a structure that protects economic growth, not punishes it! As far as Bush goes, he is just a huge fascist! He supports corporate welfare and the war on drugs! This is not what a free nation is about, either side! ~ Libertarian

Well, standards of living do vary based on the progress of a nation. the US is a successful capitalist country (mostly), but there are TONS of unsuccessful capitalist countries too (most of which, due to bad governing, are actually more capitalist than we are, with more of a free market).

Socialism isn't Communism. There is incentive in socialism (and in communism, but that's not the question).

The right-wingers posting here would have a lot better point if we had socialized medical care. Then we would be much closer to being on-par with socialist countries. America has the greatest class segregation in the industrialized world (meaning: That wonderful standard of living applies to a much smaller percentage of Americans than it applies to people in Sweden). Socialism seeks to lessen that divide, capitalism seeks to widen it (wealth is meaningless if everyone is wealthy). So to say that America has a great standard of living is deceptive at best, since the very goal of Socialism is to give a decent standard to all.

I would say almost all of them have a significantly lesser standard of living than the United States. This is not necessarily a good measure of the sucess of Socialism, because we Americans have a ridiculously high standard of living. Still, I don't believe there are really any examples of nations that are really thriving with a Socialist society.

Because Socialism is not a success. Never will be.

A system without incentive is one bound for failure. Always will be the case. Don't kid yourself.

I don't need to trash Hillary, Obama supporters will take care of that.

Socialism may be widespread, but it is hardly a success. High taxes, high unemployment, low economic growth, lower income, government controlled economies, etc. are not what I would call "better".

I'll take the animating contest of freedom over the hopes that the chains will rest lightly upon my back.

England, France, Germany, Spain.... pretty much all of western Europe.

Eastern Europe (poland, baltic states, other ex-Soviet states) have embraced Capitalism and rate of growth is 3 times that of western Europe.

Capitalism works every time it is tried.

Trying to keep up the stupid rhetoric around calling Clinton a socialist shows you don't support her or know anything about her at all. Calling her a socialist is just another part of the neocon trash talking and character assassination machine.

Oh this is an easy one...because even the ignorant can see that she is a social fascist that only wants to be President to feed her constant need for attention.
