I was trying to register my Sims 2 game so I could get the benefits and stuff, but it didn't work.

I went to the register page (www.eagamereg.com), filled out the form, and everything was fine until I got to the part where you have to enter the registration code! My Sims 2 CD came in a box, and there was a code thing on the back of the booklet, so I typed that code in since there weren't any other codes. But when I pressed "Next" it said that the code I entered had already been used!! I know for SURE that I have never registered my Sims 2 game before. How is this possible and what should I do?

The game was from Target, and I can go into build mode and build when I play the game.

Contact the electronic arts help.

They should be able to advise you of what to do.

Probably your CDs are not original. (I know they were in a box, but the market is full of skillfully made copies), the message you got from the site means that the original copy has been registered already. If you e-mailed the company or contacted its technical support, they will tell you that you have been tricked in buying a fake copy of the game and that you can buy a new liscence.

The problem is not in the registration process though. If your copy is not original then you will not be able to go into (Build Mode). The mode that allows you to modify the walls, colors, layout...etc.

Yet, the game will function normally in all other aspects.

Unfortunately, this problem has no solution, you'll play ok but you will not be able to download original updates, expansion packs, or build during game play.
