I had a misdemeanor when I was 18, and I am now 28. Could this be found in their search?

Hi, I'm in HR and that 7 year thing is wrong. It's on there forever, your criminal record is never expunged. Your credit report is cleared after 7 years, if you have something bad on that, which is what some others may be confusing this with. Yes, they will see it. Whether or not it will matter to them, because you were young and it was 10 years ago, is another question. Be prepared to explain it as a stupid kid thing if they bring it up, and hopefully you can point to a clean record since.

I think after seven years something small like that gets taken off your record...but more serious crimes stay.

after 7 years minor things are "spent" but if you've murdered or raped or sexually abused a child that will stay with you forever and so it should
