27 and 5/6 + 4 and 3/10

27 and 5/6 would translate as :
27*6/6 + 5/6
or (27*6 + 5) / 6
or 167/6

Similary 4 and 3/10 would translate as :
4*10/10 + 3/10
or (4*10 + 3) / 10
or 43/10

So your problem is now redefined as what is 167/6 + 43/10

Using cross multiplication method of adding fractions:

(167*10 + 43*6) / (6*10)
(1670+258) / 60
1928/60

Therefore the answer is 1928/60

27 5/6 + 4 3/10
= 167/6 + 43/10
The least common multiple of 6, 10 is 30. So multiply both num and den of 167/6 by 5 and 43/10 by 3

=835/30 + 129/30
=964/30
=482/15
=32 2/15

Another method .
first add the whole numbers 27 + 4 = 31
add the fractions 5/6 + 3/10 = 34/30 = 17/15 = 1 2/15
Now add 31 + 1 2/15 = 32 2/15

I prefer the second method, as the calculations are simpler

27 5/6 + 4 3/10 = 31 + 5/6 + 3/10 = 31+ 25/30 + 9/30
= 31 + 34/30 = 32 4/30 = 32 2/15

You need to find the least common denominator for the fractions.

27 5/6 = 27 25/30
4 3/10 = 4 9/30

add
27 25/30 + 4 9/30 = 31 34/30

reduce
31 34/30 = 32 4/30

further reduce the fraction
32 4/30 = 32 2/15

Well, to solve this problem you must find a common denominator. In this case, 6 and 10 (the bottom numbers of your fractions) can both be multiplied by a number to make 30, which is your least common denominator (LCD). So to make the fractions "addable", 5/6 would become 25/30, multiplying both numbers by 5 to get your 30 (the LCD) on bottom, and 3/10 would become 9/30, multiplying both by 3 to get 30 (the LCD) on bottom again.

This, so far, makes the problem 27 and 25/30 + 4 and 9/30. Now you must also add the whole numbers to your fractions. To do this, you multiply your whole numbers by the LCD, being 30. 27 times 30 = 810. You will add this number to the 25 in the 25/30 fraction. That makes your first whole amount 835/30. For the second amount, you will multiple your whole number, 4, also by 30, which equals 120, and add it to the 9 in the 9/30 fraction. This makes your second whole amount 129/30. This now makes the whole problem "addable".

835/30 + 129/30

At this point you add the 835 and 129, which equals 964. You will leave this number over 30 still. Like so:

964/30

And from there, all you have to do is reduce. Both numbers are reducable by 2, making the fraction 482/15.

27 5/6 + 4 3/10 (first add the whole numbers together and get them out of the way)
27 + 4 = 31

5/6 + 3/10 (find common denominator) (30)
25/30 + 9/30 = 34/30 = 1 4/30 = 1 2/15
31 + 1 2/15 = 32 2/15

when you have a fraction of the form a and b/c then the fraction becomes ac+b/c
(27*6+5)/6+(4*10+3)/10
167/6+43/10 (now find the common denominator)
835/30+129/30
964/30
482/15~32.13
