In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options and press the Clear History button.

If you do not want Internet Explorer to keep any history of sites right click on Internet Explorer icon, go to properties > towards bottome of page under the General tab > where it says 'Days to keep pages in history' set to how many days you want it to remember visited sites.

While you're in internet options, head over to the Content tab and click on the AutoComplete button. Uncheck "Web Addresses" if you don't want to see them pop up any more.

if mozilla then go to tools and clear private stuff but if its IE then clear history in tools!
