First of all, I don't care what people say about me. However, if they continue with their rant then they are definitely going to hear back from me. I'm not about to let anyone walk all over me. I have more self respect for myself than that.
Anyone who is immature to call a person names or insult them is just trying to make up for the fact that they themselves are lame.

I would definitely tell the person that they hurt your feelings, but do it respectfully. You know how it feels to be hurt by another person and like everyone always says; two wrongs don't make a right. By you being the bigger person and confronting the situation calmly you may both be able to resolve the problem. Also, they might not realize that they did something to hurt you, so communication may clear up the issue.

It depends on how well I know the person. If a teacher said that she didn't like my history project or something like that, and I was hurt because I really tried hard on it, then I certainly wouldn't say anything in regards to how her saying that made me feel... On the other hand, if my friend said that an outfit I had on looked ugly, I'd definitely say something! Followed by a nice smack across the face. lol

I would not say anything at the time. Then I would not be able to sleep all night. I would be up til five in the morning comparing myself to Jack Bauer, Billy Costigan and Clarice Starling thinging that they would have told the person that they were upset by what they said. Then some time in the next week I kindly tell them that it hurt me.

I just went through this, this past weekend with a friend. I cooled off a bit, and then told her how I felt. I didn't react immediately because I was angry and hurt. Once I was more calm, I said what I needed to say and I feel better. I haven't heard from my friend yet, and that's ok.

if someone hurt me I would confront them. They may not know that they hurt you, sometimes people don't realize what they say. So if you confront them, the person may be thankful because they could have said the same thing to someone else later.

depends on who it is
some people just can't deal with the fact that they've said something rude or hurtful, and bringing it to their attention only makes the situation worse
if it is a wise person that is capable of growing with the knowledge, then yes, I'd tell them

Its no use to tell some as they are just trying to hurt your feelings, so I just say nothing let it roll off my back. Then dwell on it later and silently nurse my grudges.

I would keep silent about it and spend the rest of my life plotting on ruining their lives forever!!

Actually, it's according to who it is. If it's a good friend, I might talk with them about it. Do you think they hurt your feelings on purpose?

If it was a stranger, I probably wouldn't waste my time worrying about it.

good luck

I bite my lip first, and think about how or why they may have said it, and are they having a bad day, if not and they are just being out right mean then, I'll say something to them. or just avoid that person
