I asked this last night and got some great insights from the night/early morning crowd, but this is kind of a big deal to me so I'd like to get as many opinions as possible. If you already answered, thank you. Anyway, the question:

I'm a virgin completely and totally with guys. What do you think makes for the best first time: being with someone my own age, who is equally unexperienced? Or is it better to go a little older and be with someone who knows what they're doing?

Thank you!

Someone with experience is preferred whether old or not. I had my first gay sex with an experienced and responsible guy. I was thankful he was considerate and patient. He even taught me about safe sex and use of condoms. He wanted to anal me but when I did not like the idea, he backed off. No questions asked. I entered him instead with a condom off course. Though I heard some horror stories from friends. When they refused to have anal sex, they were basically forced and "raped". Choose the right person. Your first time should be something memorable and not traumatic. By the way, if someone asks for a threesome (more than two persons), say no thanks. Take it slow kid and learn well. Gay relationships can be complicated. Too bad I'm in the Philippines :) Be safe!

When I was young and a virgin (stop laughing! I was too once young and a virgin!!), my first sexual experience was with someone a little older and more experienced. He was kind, patient, and complimentary at my attempts at love making (said I did it like a pro - a pro what?!).

However, this isn't about me it's about you. If you are attracted to older and experienced guys, there's your answer. If you're attracted to someone your age and equally inexperienced, that can be an enlightening experience as well. Perhaps you can find a copy of The Joy of Gay Sex, read it together, and experiment!

I'm in the same boat, but I have a totally different answer than what you've stated up there. The best first time would be this: being with the person you want to be with. No matter on age or experience--that's what it should be. Just go with the flow.

My first experience was at 15, and we were both as clumsy and ignorant about sex as you can get. So it was fun experimenting, but it didn't teach me squat about sex.

Now later on, I met an older guy who had experience, and it was completely different. There were things I didn't even know men could do together! So in my own humble opinion, go older (unless of course you are underage, in which case wait until you're mature enough to really appreciate and enjoy sex of any kind).

I'd go for someone you are connected with - seriously. My first time was with someone older that knew that they were doing, but it felt so hollow and I hated it. I'm not sure that having sex with someone just because they are equally inexperienced is the answer either.

I would find someone that you really and truly cherish, someone that cares for you in turn. Then, regardless of experience, ensure that your first time is not something you will regret. That it is something you will remember fondly whether it is mind blowing sex, or a sweet curious discovery for both of you.

if you want to enjoy sex, it is important to have it with someone you love, trust, respect, and feel totally comfortable being with. sex is very intimidating. you will literally feel emotionally and physically vulnurable and exposed.. so you really need to feel comfortable.

as far as experience level of partner, well, i honestly don't think it would make much of a difference. but it depends on how you feel. does the idea of an experienced partner intimidate you? or would it make you feel at ease? bottom line, communication is the most important as you will both want to get the most out of sex..

experience is better because it's something that's goign to hurt a lot at first and it could hurt the whole time thru it if you don't know what you're doing. older men arent the only ones with experience tho.

Older or your own age find someone you like and care about.

I think you should go with someone based on how attractive you think they are. The more attractive you find them the more pleasurable the experience will be for you, regardless of their "experience".
