Is there a Pen Pal service that connects college students from different countries?

I am working with a professor at school and we are looking to find if there are any Pen Pal, or email services already established to allow college students from different countries to communicate with one another.

Is there any reason why you're ruling out MySpace? They make it very easy to look up students in other colleges by major. My daughter already uses it to network with fellow dance majors around the U.S. and even made a contact with a dancer in Russia. MySpace is not just a blog; it allows users to send private messages to each other.
