i am looking for work and i still cant find anything. i want a permanent job so ive decided to go to an employment agency to get me started is that good?

in my experience it is never good, your best bet would be to find a relative or fried with a job and see if they can get you in the door,
and that's is the reason employment agencies are bad, that says to me that none of your friends or family will vouch for you,

an employment agency is good for the unhireables, for example
people from out of town, people fresh out of jail, people who have tried to get a job but cant

It is a great thing if they are actually marketing your resume. If they don't get you to an interview within 3 or 4 days, then sign up with another one, and another one, and use all your networking sources. Go to your local Chamber of Commerce meetings, hand out your resume.

Anything you do is good.

Yes, that is a good start. Make sure that your resume is in as many outlets as possible.
