I just read on babycenter.com that after 26 weeks I should feel 10 movements in 2 hours. I only feel him moving a few times a day, mainly after meals. This has me freaked out a bit, should I be worried? Am I supposed to feel him at least every 2 hours?? When he does kick I will feel several at a time, they are just few and far between

When doing kick counts any type of movement from the baby counts and it just needs to be over a period of 2 hours. If you are concerned try to do them while laying on left side and preferably after meal time.

If you really are concerned about the babies movement call your dr and explain what you have counted. They are there to pull us hormonally charged worried out of our minds moms-to-be down from the rafters.

My doc told me i should feel 10 movements over a 12hr period. As long as you are feeling baby move every day though then you are fine. You will begin to notice a pattern with your baby which is a better indication than kick counts. E.g - my baby moves in the mornings somewhere between 10-11am. In the afternoon i'll feel activity at about 2. At night i'll feel activity after dinner and then again when i lie in bed. I am woken religiously at 3am because baby is so active at this time it brings me out of sleep. If i have variations from these patterns then i'll drink something cold and lie on my side to make baby move - just for my own reassurance. As your pregnancy progresses you will become more and more aware of your babys pattern and you will be able to judge if something is wrong. You know your baby better than anyone so trust your own judgement and instinct.

Wait until you are resting at the end of the day. Drink a nice glass of cold water, eat something, and then just be still. The baby won't be kicking like it is dancing around. Just count every flutter (the baby is moving and sometimes you won't even feel it) and thump. Count up to ten movements (not kicks only). Try to count for two hours. Just keep a chart - date and # of movements. Chances are you will see in increase in movements and a decrease in the time frame you feel them in. =)

He's probably moving a lot more than you feel. And sometime you may feel it, but ignore it as gas or are busy so you don't notice. As long as you feel movement and it isn't less that it was before, you're probably fine. All babies are different inside and outside the womb. Some are more active than others. My daughter was very active, my son seemed like he hardly moved. Their personalities are still the same. She is more hyper and he is more laid back. As long as the movement is normal for him, I'm sure he is fine. The pregnancy books and web sites can be helpful, but remember they are a guide, not the letter of the law as far as pregnancy goes.

I hear ya on this one! I got passed the freaking out stage! I have read many times that when you are acyive the baby rocks to sleep. When you are relaxed the baby wakes up and tends to be more active. Also read that some babies can me asleep up to 95% of the time! I asked my Dr yesterday & he said yes that can be true and that everyone is different. I told him my lil one tends to be calm on the weekend and he said because I am more active, I work in a office. Good luck!

30 weeks, 2 days with my first!

Well you have nothing to worry about. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and the movement of my daughter fluctuates everyday. Everyone is different so I wouldn't even worry about that. As long as you feel the baby move then it should be all good.

It depends 100% on the baby. If you don't feel him move for 4 hours you need to lay on your back and relax that normally will get the baby to start moving. If that doesn't happen I would call your doctor.

Also they say that boys move less then girls. My doctor gave me a chart to count the kicks.
