I'm not for sure what you mean when you say "reboot", but I'm going to assume that you had to reinstall windows on your computer. The quickest way to check to see if your card is being recognized is to...
1. right-click on my computer on the dekstop and select "manage"
2. In the computer management window select "device manager"
3. Look to see if there's something with a yellow question mark that says "other devices" chances are that's your wireless card and you need to reinstall the drivers. The drivers should be on the installation CD of your wireless card.
4. If you don't have the CD, chances are you mau have to either go to wireless card manufacturer or your computer's manufacturer. You can also go to http://driverguide.com, sign up for free and you can find the download if you know the brand and model
Oh one more thing...you may have to go to the BIOS/system setup to make sure that the wireless card is turned on!

First go to your network places and see if you see the conection if not, do you have the CD software that came with the wireless card? If so re-install it if all else fails. The other thing you can do is hold down the windows key and press the break key. It will bring up your systems properties. Go to hardware, then device manager and look for something that has to do with the type of wireless device that you have. Most likely it will be the one with a yellow question mark. If this is the case you dont have the drivers and you need to download them from your wireless companies website(ITS FREE). Once thats done save it to your desk top so you can find it. Now go back to the device manager and click on the part and go to update driver. From there click on the second option wich is to install from a list. Now browse to your desktop and look for where you had saved the download and the rest should be easy.

There will be a wireless internet connection switch on your laptop. Make sure you switched it on before connecting to internet. Once that is switched on, your wireless network adapter tries to access the nearest available wireless network.
or, go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select "Wireless Zero Configuration". Right Click -> Properties and select "Automatic" option from the drop down list for "Start up Type". This means, the wireless network card will be switched on automatically after you reboot your laptop. You don't have to manually turn on the wireless network card switch.
Hope this helps..
