3 meiosis produces cell with dipliod chronsome number TRUE
4 meiosis can occ\ur anywhere in the body, if talking about cells in the body, it is true, because meiosis can occur in any body cell..

Body cells Do contain pairs of chromosomes.
A zygote(fertilised ovum) contains a diploid number of cells.
Meiosis produces a gamete with a HAPLOID number of chromosomes(ie non-paired).
Meiosis ONLY occurs in cells which form gametes(in mammals, this would be the testes or ovaries). Other cells divide by MITOSIS which is a different process.

1 and 2 are true; 3 and 4 are false.

In cells, the chromosomes are in pairs; meiosis break the pair, one part for each cell. On the other hand, mitosis actually replicates the pair into each resulting cell.

Quick nomenclature: a diploid cell has chromosomes in pairs; a haploid cell (aka gamete) has only one side of the pair.

1. TRUE, homologous pairs
2. TRUE, gametes are haploid egg, sperm and they form zygote diploid
3. FALSE meiosis results in gametes which are haploid
the gametes, sperm and egg cells are produced depending on which sex the person is male or female. In order for the fertilization to take place there must be intercourse and the egg and sperm form a zygote which is diploid
4. FALSE meiosis only occurs in sexual reproduction
so male gametes sperm are formed in the male sexual organs and female eggs are formed in female organs

1. true
2. true
3. false (meiosis produces gametes which have haploid chromosome number)
4. false (it occurs only on gametic cells)
