Best football matches include our FA Cup. Always a great game, and always give the underdogs respect. England Vs Germany will always be a hyped game, and as the first guy answered, the sweetest game was the 5-1 beating we gave them. Argentina and Brazil are very creative and have much flair.....but give them the English weather and the amount of games our players play each year and they wouldnt be able to play for toffee.

Don't know if it would improve anyone's game, but Home Internationals could well be restored for years when there are no major tournaments. England won't fancy it though, because they remember all too well that while they've been getting worse and under achieving the other home nations have either been holding their standards or, in the case of Scotland, beating World Cup finalists home and away, and they won't want Scotland coming south and stuffing their highly paid superstars... again. Wembley's a happy hunting ground for Scotland. Oh, and I kinda fancy some Wembley turf for my lawn... :)

For england followers, the 5-1 over Germany or 66 WC where we beat those lederhosen wearing wierd accent speakin germans. For club followers, and every1 who has anything remotely to do with football, the FA cup final. It is the only competition where little clubs like accrington Stanly (why are they always used as the 'rubbish club'?!?!?!?!?) can win it, although they often dont!
I just hope Spurs win 1 over on Chelsea in the 6th round. Come on you spurs!

Not even a competition.

England's greatest sporting achievement, was unquestionably, 1966 when England won the world cup.

Anybody who disagrees, does not know their history of English sport!
