I'm traveling 1,000 miles by car on Saturday so I want to know how I can still look good while I'm doing so. I won't be the one driving.

Take a little travel make-up pack, and when you stop at rest stops, bring in a toothbrush (if you want) and some face wash. As for your hair, just do it really good the day before, and hope it doesn't mess up. Have fun on vacation!

Great question and one that I think alot of girls have, but don't ask.
My girlfriend and I have had to do alot of travel with our job and just like to do it for fun anyway. I really like the approach that she has taken to it. She puts the focus on being comfortable, not trendy. Now, she is a beautiful woman, but she doesn't try to flaunt it when we travel. If you are driving that far, you will most likely sleep. Hair without crap in it is easier to fix up after sleeping against a window (or shoulder) than hair with crap in it.
Now I'm not saying that you should go in nasty workout sweats from Nacho Libre, but be comfortable and let it show. If it's dude that you are traveling with, he won't mind. In fact if he's any quality at all he will appreciate it. Now if you are going to visit a dude, it's a little different. You don't want to show up all whiped out because you were stressing about looking good as you went. You want to look good when you see him (which, if you're driving that far...it won't take much...guys are sentimental too) and that requires rest. So, I know this may sound ridiculous, but find a truck stop. I used to be a road manager for bands and that is where the girls would get all dolled up before shows. Be picky though, smelling like a nasty lav isn't going to help you at all.
I hope this helps.

Keep a good moisturizer handy so your face will have a dewy and soft effect. Also, remember to do your lips! Lipstick, lip balm, lip gloss, whatever. I wouldn't worry about the eyes too much, since they will probably fade. If you complexion is oily and shiny, keep some loose powder and a good brush available for rest stops (or just use a compact mirror). You can even add blush to give your face a flush of healthy color. Don't dress yourself up if you don't feel comfortable. I would rather sleep than do my makeup or worry about my hair on a long car trip.

Keep it simple and comfortable. Jeans and a cute top. Simple, low maintenance hair. Very basic makeup; this means minimal or no foundation, a little mascara, and some tinted chapstick. Keep a tiny travel pouch with a toothbrush, deodorant, and oil blotters for your face, so that you can freshen up when you stop for bathroom breaks. If you look overdone, you will just end up looking rumpled and smeary if you fall asleep.

I always wear a cute pair of jeans and a comfortable top or velor pants with the matching jacket. I would also get ready as your normally do as far as your hair and makeup goes. Lip gloss and a hair brush are a necessity. They can make you feel "put together" on a road trip.

Start with a wrap dress in a jersey fabric. You will be comfy and no wrinkles! Than simple low pony tail for your hair, simple make-up, a little nap in the car and you will arrive as cute as a button!

Agree with all the amke-up advice above, and clothing wise, I think the main thing is comfort! A smart loose suit if its that sort of occasion, but something uncrushable!
Have a safe trip!

It depends on where you are headed, but dress casually. That is a long drive. Wear comfortable clothes.

Keep a little purse with yourself. In it put a comb, lotion, and a few pieces of gum. A touch up of lip gloss can't hurt.

uuuh why does that matter?? your drivng in a car.

unless thers a hottie driving with u. then just keep oil blotting sheets to keep shine at bay, tinted chapstick, mascara, etc. just dont go ALL OUT makeup look. you'll look desperate and obvious.
and if thers no one drivin with u to impress why does it matter?
