Mercedes uses a mechanism called the Active Service System (really unfortunate acronym...the result of German translation into English!). There is an oil quality sensor in your oil pan. A computer monitors your mileage and the condition of your oil, and will notify you about a month before it's time to change. It's usually around 10,000 miles, but can be more or less depending on driving style and conditions.
Your owner's manual will have instructions for calling up the ASSYST screen, which will display the approximate miles or kms to next service. There is no need to change oil or filter earlier, although it will do no harm to do so. When you change your oil, you MUST use the Mercedes approved oil, which is probably 0W-40 Mobil 1 synthetic, or similar. Do not use petroleum oils in this car, or the computer will not be able to calculate the correct service intervals. And whatever you do, don't go to one of those fast oil change places, they won't use the right oil, they won't know how to reset the computer, and they won't even know how to drain the pan.
Final point: if you ever disconnect your battery, your service interval will automatically reset, so you won't be able to rely on the computer. In this case, be sure to change your oil immediately!

I would have to agree with Duke on this one. Mercedes Benz vehicles get their first service 1 year after the production date or 13,000 miles which ever comes first. After that it's 1yr/13,000 miles. They can accomplish this by using Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil and larger amounts. Most MB vehicles take 8 liters of oil. Larger amounts of oil = longer time/distance for the oil to break down. Hope this helps.

When cars use synthetic oil, it's the filters that really need to be changed. The oil actually lasts a really long time.
Mercedes likely says to change every 15,000 miles. I'm too lazy to double check, but that's what they usually say. I'd just cut that in half to about 7500.
The oil actually can last for 15,000 miles, but the filter is usually done by about 7000. Maybe 6000. 7500 (half of 15,000) just makes it easier to remember.

you ought to verify the broker and/or the vendors handbook. while i became finding a clean MB's i've got self belief i became instructed that they do no longer require their first provider until 10,000 miles. i presumed that sounded incorrect nonetheless.
