So many of the Bush administration is tied to the company and/or it's subsidiaries, and are raking in the profits, and yet there is no news coverage.

It isn't forgotten by Americans even when the debacle is being censored by the Republicans.

Yes, it is odd. If it had been any other company that knowingly supplied spoiled food and contaminated water to the troops, there would have been a huge hue and cry. The Bush administration effectively squelched the story completely - I'm sure a lot of people (especially Fox news watchers) haven't even heard of this scandal. Thank god for internet news and blogs.

One more notch on the Bush's "most corrupt administration in history" bedpost.

It's called war profiteering and it's a business as old as prostitution.
To report on such activities is like reporting on General Mills fiscal year. Every time America goes to "war" its an exercise of diverting tax dollars out of social programs (education, health, transit, etc) and into the pockets of very dangerous - very infleuntial defence contractors. It creates demand for their services well beyond.
Furthermore it creates a demand for new military technology and provides a real world testing ground for existing technology.

This is the "new Army" and bush had to give it a test drive.
Work out the kinks in our comm, sat, targeting devices...

Additionally burning national resources literally into thin air drives up the national deficit which lowers interest rates and slows down inflation. Keyesian economics 101.

It's not really news - it is the way of life in the military industrial complex we call home.

No.

The "scandal" was a construct of the left. The same folks who employed Halliburton when they were in office.

It was all thrown out there to mislead the American people and slam George Bush.

I don't find it odd simply because it's yesterday's news. As a rule, Americans are very fickle and have a short collective memory/attention span. Additionally, however unethical it was to award Halliburton no-bid contracts, it wasn't illegal. As such, the story has run its course.

I disagree with you and would request that you update by positng the names of the persons in the Bush Administration who are "raking in the profits".

I'm not surprised, no. The cable news networks have to burn airtime talking about Anna Nicole Smith and Britney Spears (FFS, I wish they'd stop it already) and that leaves no time for real news.

I fault the newspapers less, really; they have limited space. I do still fault them, mind. Just less than TV.

There is more to cover than Halliburton. It will be brought up again. Probably won't be on Fox but on another network.
