I worked in a porn shop and had to clean up after customers in the peep show room. I think that says it all.

When I was 16, I did some housework for an older lady every week. She'd keep telling me my work was great when I was there, and then sending me confusing insults via mail (like on my Christmas card!--she said something like "I know how long it takes to vacuum a living room." I never did find out if she meant that I was too slow, or that I was finishing too fast and must not have done it right...). And since I only worked a few hours a week, she paid me at the end of the month. I wasn't smart about writing down how many hours I worked (I just remembered them), and she'd always say I worked less than I did!

Maintenance at a hotel. Things were good for about 3 weeks then the bottom fell out. Hung in there for 2 years. Made the best money I'd ever earned before but the politics and the BS within the department eventually chewed me up and spat me out.

i used to work at a fertility clinic filing all the patient's records. I hated it because I didn't have a desk so I had to stand all the time. I had to wait until I had work to do and because none of the nurses talked to me the whole time! So time would always drag and it was not easy to work where no one talks to you. Then I got sick and I didn't go work for one day and next day the manager fired me saying that I should take care of myself first!

What a *****!

The one I have now. I am server and over the years I have come to realize people suck. People get a kick out of making other people unhappy. Serving has caused me to think that overall we are a miserable bunch. Then again when dealing with any one who deals with the public, I am the nicest damn person to them. So I guess it has made me a better person, but people still suck.

Dishwashing. I'd have to stay and clean the kitchen after closing. I'd be there until 1AM sometimes and then walk a mile and a half to get home. Then I'd have to get up at 6am to go to school.

(I was 15.)
