His team was barely .500. That does not seem like a mvp canidate to me.

Wade is an MVP candidate because he is playing on the defending champions team. While guys like Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and Tracy Mcgrady have all played just as well, and have arguably the same type of roster of players they get left out of the MVP Race.

Right now Wade has replaced Kobe Bryant and Lebron James as the NBA darling, so he's going to be pushed any chance they get to put his name out to the public.

Wade is a damn good player, but in the East he should be doing much better than an 8th or 9th spot. He should be atleast a 5 seed in the east. It would be more understandable if his team was struggling playing in the western conference.

1. Dirk (Hes great, also has a good supporting cast)
2. Kobe (Hes great, supporting cast eh, 3 of 5 starters have been out with injuries this year)
3. Arenas (Very good, ultimate self promoter right now)
4. Nash (Hes very good, good supporting cast)
5. Lebron (Hes great, and an supporting cast that could be better)
6. Mcgrady (Very good, weak supporting cast)

7.

ha! good question. i happen to think the mvp is a popularity contest now. wade for mvp this year?? HELL NO. he's a great player, but look at his team. if he was really all that "valuable," he never would have let his team fall below .500! the true mvp should be either kobe, steve nash, or dirk!

wade for mvp.... HA... im laughing my a** off right now just thinking about it!!!!!

but if for some strange reason it does happen (like if miami actually did better this second half), we'll all know there is something wrong with the league when better players get overlooked.

Dwayne wade is an MVP candidate because he is the team's leader in the absence of Shaq. He creates for the team he was the mvp in their championship last year. He has held his team in eighth place without help. The team is injured with many veterans that are no playing to their fullest. Now that Flash is injured Miami Heat will be hurt

are you kidding...d-wade is the best player in basketball not named steve nash and has carried this team single-handedly back into the eastern conference...their season started out like a train wreck, with the loss of wade himself and their head coach, and wade brought this team back without the help of anyone...if steve nash hadnt proven to be so valuable to phoenix(considering they arent half as good without him) wade would have a legitimate chance to win, but nash will win and nowitzki will take third behind wade
