All my baby does is move. LoL. I know that's a good thing but, when he moves now.. whether he's just moving his arm or kicking.. it hurts badly, very badly. He's constantly kicking or pushing on my back. I know it's better for him to stay in as long as possible but what can I do to make his calm down a little? Not neccessilary give birth to him but, just have him calm down? thanks so much for you opinions.

I'm in the same boat as you currently. I'm 37 weeks too and my baby seems to be moving constantly. Even more so than my daughter did at this time when I was pregnant with her. It feels like the inside of my uterus should be black and blue from all the uncomfortable kicking and stretching of my skin!

In all honesty, I don't think there is much you can do to make the baby calm down. I know that babies tend to move more at night when you are ready to sleep (conveniently..lol) and are rocked to sleep during the day to your contant movement. I know alot of time when I drink hot chocolate or anything else that is warm it seems to calm mine down. But when I drink something cold he starts kicking again. It might just be my baby though. Other than that, I have no clue if there's an actual way to calm babies down while still in the uterus.

The only thing I can tell you is that you don't have too far to go now. It's going to be rough for the next few weeks, but soon the baby will be born and believe it or not.. you're gonna miss those painful kicks and stretches! Good luck and congrats!

The babies tend to be rocked to sleep when you're moving around a lot...you could try and talk a walk.

I know my baby is WIDE awake as soon as I lay down and am quiet for a little bit...when I'm walking around and busy she's completely calm and probably napping.

Other than walking, I'm not sure...probably cutting out caffeine and sweet sugary foods would help too.

Good luck!

when you are this far along it is hard to do much of anything. The baby is getting so very big that it is running out of room. Hang in there just a bit longer and the baby will come. For the pain you can take some tylenol.

It always helped me to take a warm bath that always calmed my unborn soccer player to calm down a bit.. i called her that because she was always kicking at my bladder like it was her very own soccer ball.. anyways try to stay away from anything that has alot of sugar in it .. that will also stimulate the baby..

maybe listening to some nice calming music, or taking a bath? try walking a long distance, say a mile or so to get him to relax and fall deeper into the pelvis. I know how you feel. i'm 39 weeks (tomorrow) and when my baby girl stretches (when she wakes up...lol) it hurts so bad that sometimes i get mad because there's nothing i can do about it... think about how she feels right...? all couped up in there...haha. good luck and i hope something works for you!

I had the same problem when I was pregnant. Try moving your body in a rocking motion (just like in a rocking chair). This helped my little one to relax.

in my expierince, theres nothing you can do to calm a baby down in the womb. I have tried singing to my bubs, having showers and baths, drinking both warm and cold stuff... seems anything i do just hypes her up more!!

I used calm music (from a music box). It helped me. Try it by putting the music box on your stomach and play it.

change your position. my baby digs into my left pelvic bone, so i turn to my right side, so it kinda hangs in my belly rather than scooting to one side.
