have you ever seen a tornado up close? give details

i have been in a tornado and trust me even though they look like they might be fun they are not. I was sitting on my couch watching tv and all of a sudden i looked outside and i noticed the sky was turning a bruised purple.I ran and got my parents and animals because it was still pretty far away and got in the basement, then the lights went out. It was so loud and overwelming, it sounded like five freight trains. I was lukcy because i have a safe basement that is good for that kind of weather and i obviosly lived.it was i think a categorie 5 tornado or something like that it was a long time ago so my memory is not as clear.I was very lucky to live because around 900 people were injured or died. I hope that wasn't to long. Otherwise i like small storms because the rain makes me fall asleep and i like the sound of thunder.

I do like thunderstorms, but i've never seen a tornado up close.

I love thunderstorms & yes i have seen a few tornados pretty
close. Amazing!

Thunderstorms are amazing in itself. Have seen lighting once from an airplane before landing and it was wonderful to see how the stange cloud formations lit up in the darkness.
Never seen a Tornado but got caught in a small wind swirl in a supermarket carpark once. It blew bags and leaves around and sand in my eyes and even though it was only a mini version I felt the force!

I really love thunderstorms especially when I'm lying in my bed and its beating against my window its just sweet... and the only place I want to see a tornado is in the movie and I hopefully plan to keep it that way

Thunderstorms are cool. I especially like it when the air gets an ozony smell to it. When the sky grows dark, almost purplish black. When the crack of lightning is so close you don't have time for the first "one thousand one..." And those torrential downpours, water so high and fast you feel like you're in the rinse cycle. Then there's the calm after the storm, the sweet smell of clean.
Thunderstorms remind me of how little I am in the grand scheme of things.
Wish I could get my dog to feel the same way.

I love all kinds of storms...but thunder storms are my favorite!
No, I have never seen a tornado up close...but have seen the green glow in the sky in the distance!

I love thunderstorms. If you live in Florida and dont like storms, your crazy because that is all we get every single day in the late winter, spring and summer
