I have an older brother and although both of us are married with our own lives, sometimes I feel like he still sees me as a baby (we're 10 years apart.) My husband says its a good thing because it shows that he is caring. Although is does not bother me at all, i am just wondering why older brothers are generally protective of their younger sisters?

I think it's because it's they way you're parents raised him. As a child they probably always told him to watch after you. And it's just something he used to.

i do not have a brother but my male friends in the past and present were protective of me so i guess they are like brothers to me.

my bros used to be the same way. i think it's in the testosterone. they don't do it so much anymore. they know that since i can kick their asses, i can pretty much take care of myself. now they only come to my rescue if it's something emotional.

because they spent the whole childhood protecting you and they can't get it out of their system
