For those of you who are pro-abortion, let me ask you this. With all the discoveries regarding how alive a fetus is, how can you honestly say that it's not a living person that you think you have the right to choose to abort. I have never heard a response to the question "What about the rights of the child?"

My wife had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life. Knowing full well that I was holding a child in my hands probably scarred me for life. It wasn't really decipherable what was what, because it was so young, but it was not me, and not my wife, therefore, it IS A SEPERATE PERSON. After that experience, I don't know how anyone could possibly tell me that a fetus isn't a baby.

First put yourself in this position , you have a let's say 11 year old daughter who has been raped as a result she becomes pregnant - of course she does not know how to cope, who would! You would seriously make your daughter go through an entire pregnancy w/ an everyday reminder growing in her stomach? Case number two, lets say a young mother of 2 small children is pregnant with her third child, the doctors tell her if she continues with the pregnancy there is a very good chance she would not survive - we should leave these two small children without a mother? I would want the choice - I had the choice; I picked life & put the health of my unborn daughter in God's hands - she was born 100% healthy & is now 14 years old, I had an option - who are we to take this away from anyone - only God has the right to judge. The point is yes abortion should be legal for health issues or in cases of rape - not legal for a form of birth control. My opinion. P.S. I am a Republican.

I have never met anyone who is "pro-abortion".
But thank you for demonstrating the technique of sneaky word play.

Anyway the point of contention is that certain women in certain situations feel that the development of a fetus which they will eventually deliver as a child is a biological condition of their own internal bodies. People that recognize that are horrified by a "free society" which desperately want slop munching politicians (demos and repos both) to legislate the interpretation at threat of prison. This is not the place of Capital Hill!!!!
We don't give politicians that power!!!!

I am a pro-life man because I feel so passionately about the miracle of life and the gravity of getting a woman pregnant.
I am pro-choice because this is not the government's place to make such distinctions! The government is there to delegate our tax dollars and protect our borders....That's it.

I support whole heartedly any organizations that promotes safe sex, helping young mothers, and fighting to prevent abortions.
Unless that organization is actually a political action group trying to strongarm legislation into effect that is anti-american.

There is no such thing as pro-abortion.
If you make an attempt to understand that it will greatly aid in your arguements for choosing no to abortions.
And if make an attempt to stop legislating issues that are between a woman, a man, (perhaps a doctor and a church) it will do a lot to help us all erradicate tyranny and strife from this planet.

thank you.

When your a fetus you don't no you are alive even if you are alive. If I would have been aborted I would never have known I was alive in the first place. The world would be exactly the same but there would be one less person sitting in front of a computer wasting energy while humans are destroying the earth. And for those of you who will say you could be abborting the next scientist you could also be aborting the next murderer.

Why not show me some links to these discoveries where Unborn's are alive? (I know their alive... but can they feel, can they think? And... more importantly, how can you prove that?)

So long as nobody can prove to me beyond a reasonable doubt that an unborn child can feel and think... I will always be pro-abortion. I believe in the rights of the mother. I feel that it is abhorrent to force a woman who was raped to keep any child that horrible incident produced and not give her the right to end that unwanted pregnancy that occurred from a crime. And nobody is going to change my mind about that. Not you, not the President, and Not a Doctor. Forcing someone who conceived a child through a crime (rape) is inhumane.... no matter how you try and tell me of the child's rights. What about the WOMAN'S RIGHTS?!?!

I don't think abortion is a big issue with most liberals. I think it is a big issue with conservatives, as it motivates their base and right wing talk show hosts claim that all liberals are pro-abortion. I am a liberal but would never advocate anyone getting an abortion. While a fetus is a living thing, it is not a child.

This argument ONLY started after the Neo-Right post-eighties crap came along. It is also in direct proportion to a rise in harassment and violent threats to abortion clinics.

Coincidence of two irratioanlities? Probably.

One pregnant body is just that: ONE body.
Make restrictions on personal surgery you have facism.Plain and simple.

Given the conservatives penchant for child abuse and reform schools, I'd say they are not too serious about the "rights of the child". If anything thats LIBERAL territory.

And you claimed today that liberals think they have a supreme right to rule the world. You're kidding, right?

And do you ever consider the type of life the child would have? In most cases where abortion is requested, it is in poor family and hookers who can not and do not want to take care of the child. What about the rights of the child? You want him to suffer? To have to go through all the crap in the world that a miserable person would? Yes, perhaps he wont....but the probablity is very high that he/she will. So, now let me ask you your own question again. What about the right of the child? (to not suffer)

Nothing is sadder to me than the death of an innocent child. I don't care at what stage of development it is. Nor do I feel I shouldn't have an opinion about it because I am a man.
Personally, I think the father of an aborted fetus should be killed as well. How irresponsible can it be to have sex with a woman that you don't expect to be the mother of your children.
The stats from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control indicate that 55% of the woman who have abortions are white, over 25 years of age, single, and have an annual income in excess of $36,000. These stats, available on their website, clearly show that the majority of the woman who have abortions are upwardly mobile career woman, whose goal in life does not include children, which contradicts what another answerer stated about these woman being poor hookers or whatever.
Clearly, abortion is being used as a method of birth control. There is no moral highground to that. If children are not in your expectations of life, get an operation to remove your reproductive system.

I am not "pro-abortion" I am pro-choice.

You are a man and would never face the situation of losing your job, house & car if you became pregnant.

You will never risk death in giving birth to a child. And heck, if you only want to parent part-time you can.

Motherhood and pregnancy are huge responsibilities, what gives you, a person who will NEVER have to face these choices, the right to tell ME what I can and cannot do.

And as for the adoption part of it, how many children have you adopted?
