Bottom line is Green Eyes are NOT a deformity as per modern biology/medicine.

Wikipedia says:

Eye color is a polygenic trait and is determined primarily by the amount and type of pigments present in the eye's iris.[1][2] Humans and animals have many phenotypic variations in eye color.[3] In humans, these variations in color are attributed to varying ratios of the two types of melanin produced by melanocytes in the iris: eumelanin and pheomelanin.[2]
-
Green eyes are the product of moderate or low amounts of melanin. Green eye color has often been attributed to lighter hair colors, such as blond and red. However, green eyes are not uncommon in those with darker hair.

Green eyes are commonly found all over the Europe. (Urdu translation).[citation needed] Deities in both Chinese and Greek mythology had green eyes, possibly because of their rarity.

Medical implications

Those with lighter iris color have been found to have a higher prevalence of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) than those with darker iris color;[29] lighter eye color is also associated with an increased risk of ARMD progression.[49] An increased risk of uveal melanoma has been found in those with blue or grey iris color.[50]

So, no special risk for green eyes... they are in fact, gorgeous ! lol

It is a mutation in the genes/DNA. It's like a recessive gene, kind of like if your dad carries two blue eye genes and your mom has a blue eye gene and a green eye gene, the recessive gene is the green, that just happened to mutate ever so slightly to become green.

My whole family has green eyes, I guess we are all freaks!

Its not a deformity, but a mutation..........Eye color comes from a combination of two black and yellow pigments called melanin in the iris of your eye. If you have no melanin in the front part of your iris, you have blue eyes. An increasing proportion of the yellow melanin, in combination with the black melanin, results in shades of colors between brown and blue, including green and hazel.

Mutations are not due to recessive and dominant forms, it;s just due to where, in the cell cycle, a miscarried gene goes into. in meiosis of prophase 1, mutations occur.
