YOU ARE PREGNANT! There is such a thing as a false positive but those are rare and you have nothing to worry about! The person probably meant that since early results tests detect lower levels they are more likely to give false positives but that is ridiculous b/c you shouldn't have any HCG in your system whatsover and for sure not enough to show up on a test. I mean if they weren't accurate we would have found out by now! (By the way someone who naturally has a miniscule amount of HCG in their system will ALWAYS get a positive on a pregnancy test no matter what so if you have ever tested before and got a negative you are for sure not in this boat) A dr's blood test will tell for sure and is generally recommended anyway to see what the level of HCG is. Best of Luck to You!

Hi, I had the same issue when I was doing my pregnancy test. I bought a cheap one, it was positve but very faint. I bought a more expensive one, it was positve but again very faint. I did these tests a week before I had even missed my period...so probably about 7-10 days after conception and I got the positives. I then took three more tests, one was the clear blue easy digital and they all were positive as well. I too wondered if it was to early and if i was getting a false positive. So I called the numbers on two of the boxes and got the same feedback from the RN's. FALSE Positives are very very very rare. If you get a positive result, you are pregnant.....even if it is super faint. They told me that the test were designed to detect HCG, if you are showing a positive already it just means your levels of HCG were high enough to be detected this early. I still wasnt buying it so went to the doctor to have it confirmed three days before my missed period and they confirmed. Anyhow the only other way I can think you may get a false positive is if you just had a baby a few weeks ago or if you miscarraried recently. Good Luck to you and enjoy your pregnancy

Anything is possible. I always recommend going to the dr for a blood test because you will feel better to know with certainty. However, my husband and I tried to get pregnant for three and a half years and I took 1 or 2 pregnancy tests every month. I NEVER had a false positive. The positive result is generated by the test sensing a certain hormone in your urine and the only way it could be a false positive is if it was a defective test. So I say, take another one and call your dr to confirm.

It is very very rare to get a false positive. Not impossible, but almost. If there is any sign of a line or whatever the test says for the positive result, then you are pregnant. Good luck to you and I wish you the best. I took 3 hpts last week and still dont believe it! When you want something so bad, you dont want to get your hopes up for nothing. Congrats mommy!

Early pregnancy tests tend to give false NEGATIVES. A false positive is rare. I'd say congrats! Call the doc and make an appt.!
Check out www.peeonastick.com for more info. But they say a false positive is rare. People don't realise the impact their flippant remarks make, ugh. Best of luck to you!!

There are no false positives, unless the test was bad before you took it. Most-likely you are pregnant, but make an appointment with your doc to confirm.
Congrats!

Unless you have been pregnant in the past 6 weeks and miscarried or delivered....a positive is a positive. The tests are designed to detect the HCG in your body. If you aren't pregnant, its not there. Congrats mommy!!!

Most likely not, you are much more likely to have it say that you are not pregnant when you really are rather than it saynig you are pregnant and not really being. The tests run off of a hormone detector that is in your urine and if you have that hormone it is only there when you are pregnant. Hope this helps!
