Dramatic Irony (when the audience knows something the characters do not): Macbeth's soliloquy about how Banquo is the only man he fears.

Verbal Irony (saying the opposite of what you mean or when the words symbolize something else): when Banquo says, "It will be rain to-night" and the murderer says, "Let it come down." "It" can be rain, but he really means the knife that he is using to kill Banquo or in scene iv, Macbeth asks if Banquo is "safe" (which can be interpreted as "well"), and the murderer answers, "He's safe in a ditch with 20 gashes in his head"

Situational Irony (when an unexpected event occurs): Remember that Macbeth is a wimp when it comes to murder, but his wife convinces him to do it by questioning his manhood; it is ironic that he uses the same tactic to convince the murderers to kill Banquo in the same fashion: by questioning their manliness.
