3^(x^2+3)= 97
3x * 3x + 27 = 97
9x + 27 = 97
-27 -27
9x = 70
{divide both sides by 9}
x = 7.777...

Use log.

log(3^(x^2+3)) = log(97)

(x^2 + 3)log(3) = log(97)

x^2 + 3 = log(97)/log(3)

x^2 = log(97)/log(3) - 3

x = sqrt(log(97)/log(3) - 3) = 1.078926...
