George W Bush - not a great politician. A great politician would build consensus in a time of war, (rather than division, as Harry Truman and FDR and Lincoln did).
George W Bush - ploy used by Big Business to pander to the Christian Right so that Dick Cheney could run the country.

Bush is one of the GREATEST politicians of all time. If you listen to the liberals then he...........stole the 2000 election, planned the 911 attacks as an excuse to invade Iraq 17 months later, stole the 2004 elections, and sacrificed 3000 US troops and 300 Billion Dollars ALL to make money off of Halliburton contracts and oil price fixing! And to think they call him a chimp, an idiot, and a moron! All this while taking vacations 32 days a month!

Karl Rove is a great politician. He tells Dubya what to do and Dubya does it the best he can. Most of politics is getting people to believe your BS. He got elected doing that. Enough people obviously believed the BS. So Rove/Bush is a good politician.

I would say typical politician, but I would consider a great politician a person who doesn't hide the truth, who tries to do things for the country instead of self gain, and a person who has outstanding charisma and a great ability to speak.
He has charm, like a snake, but charm none the less. He kind of lacks everything else though.

To be a "great" politician, one must have three things: 1) A great smile 2) The ability to lie convincingly with ease, and 3) Deep pockets. Dubya fits all three of the criteria beautifully, That makes him a "great" politician.

Unfortunately no. When he had control of all 3 branches of government, he had a chance to bar Al Gore from the country, as unpopular as that would have been. After all, loss of the inventor of the Internet, the discoverer of global warming, the charmer of Red Chinese Buddhists would have been disastrous for liberals everywhere.
