Yes, the terms are pretty much interchangeable. Physical memory refers to the actual RAM sticks in your computer.

You'll probably also hear the term "virtual memory." That refers to a portion of the hard drive that Windows borrows to use as a supplement to the physical RAM, if it needs to keep more things in memory than the installed RAM will allow for.
