In the 1970's I used to wear a dance belt under a leotard and tights which made it more comfortable. I was told off by my teacher who insisted that I put my hair in a bun. I wasnt laughed at as I was the official pointe shoe fitter (Freeds qualified)

If it's too small it may give you a painfull wedgie as some of my mates demonstrated at a dress up party.
