It actually represents the Star of Bethlehem. Wal-Mart beleives that they are equally important as Jesus, thus they use the star to guide the masses to the building to be saved (or save money).

maybe it's the "-ton" that's missing from walton. i bet if you look closely there's a tiny little star between the r and t of mart which stands for "-ke-"
