i have a 2 year old son called Fred, and recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
I love the name Florence (Flo), but would the two sound slightly odd (Florence and Fred, tesco's...).

alternatively, we have Emily, Eleanor and Annabell, but i think that Flo would really suit her.

I don't want them to get teasted at school!

its not bad to name your kids with the same initials
my parents did it..we all start with A's...
I think its cute..kinda like our family's own little club.

I think if you're having doubts about it - that's your answer right there.
Now - from a personal standpoint - I firmly believe in naming a child exactly what you are going to call it. In other words - if you plan on calling her Flo - then name her Flo, not Florence. Course - that's just my opinion.
But I don't see why Flo and Fred should evoke any teasing. I know a family with 6 kids - and the kids names all start with D's.

I've never been a fan of older names like that, they just remind me of grandmas and grandpas.. but Florence seems a little heavy for a child, even flo. Thats like "aunt flo" aka your period? I just would go more with Emily or Emma.. those are both very cute, and no evil names can spawn from them!

Flo sounds a little grandma-ish to me. Emily is a beautiful name. But are you saying you recently had a baby and she doesn't even have a name yet?

Florence is a very old fashioned name, as is Eleanor. I think Annabell is your best choice, you obviously prefer older sounding names, so Emily might be a bit too cute.

i dont think naming your daughter flo is a good idea

you know when women have their period, they sometimes say "aunt flo is over"

like flow, get it

eleanor reminds me of eleanor rosavelt
annabell reminds me of a poem, called annabell lee (its about a girl that died)

emily is too common

i always liked the name elizabeth

you could call your daughter elli for short

It does not sound bad to me, it just reminds me of "Finding Nemo" where the fish in the tank calls her reflection from the class Flo. You have to name them what feels right. My parents had my name picked out from the beginning I was going to be a Jessica, but when I came out they said nope it didnt fit me
