I was thinking about this earlier today. My best friend cries every single day without fail, no matter small the things she cries about is. She cries when she's happy, sad, angry or just plain tired and frustrated or sick. I, on the other hand, can count on one hand the number of times I've cried in the past year. That is even being soft for me. I can also count the number of times I cried in a 5 year period on one hand. How about you?

HI

omg this is wierd to come across this question i was driving along today and thinking about this very topic and i had tears rolling down my face at the time as i felt very lonely in the world.
I rarely cry either. I think it might depend on how much emotion you were allowed to show as a child maybe.
When something or someone has upset me most often i'm glad i do not cry but at times i wish i could for some relief of the worry about something and the tears won't come.
Watching a sad film makes me cry though last night i watched Scandal and the part where Christina Keeler and Stephen Ward were in court and they were just looking at each other with so much love in their eyes as they were best friends and they knew their fates at the end of the film made me cry a few tears. The last time i cried before that was before Christmas when i had had a very bad argument with my friend.

I haven't cried in over 6 years. I haven't cried in front of anyone since I was about 12, and I'm 23 now. I remember it used to feel good afterwards. I am worried that I have lost the ability to feel, as I have concentrated so hard on controlling my emotions; I was quite an angry child - now I cant remember the last time I truly lost my temper. I worry that one day everything will come to a head and I'll snap, but don't feel like it's going to happen, I just hear about folks bottling it up. I cant help but feel that my family members think I'm cold and uncaring, because when my sister was in hospital after being hit by a bus and nearly dying, I showed no emotion at all whilst all around me were letting it all out, parents included. I felt that somehow by not showing emotion, I was playing an important role and dealt with the mundane stuff like running relatives to and from the hospital. What really scared me afterwards was that I felt I had lost the ability to feel emotion almost completely, having stopped even showing emotion to myself in private. Happiness no longer feels quite as happy as before, and sadness feels like nothing at all. Emotionally, I feel anaesthetised, like the emotions are strong flavoured food and I cant taste it cos I have a terrible cold. Anyone else feel this way? It's terrible :(

I baredly ever cry, The last time i cried was last summer and it was because i had a dream my mom died and me and her are like really really close, anyways but it was like really realistic and stuff so when i woke up i thought she was dead and then i realized she wasnt and it was just a dream. Now my eyes will water here and there when i am sick, so that kinda sucks but yea i feel sry for ur friend because she must be depressed a lot when ur crying all the time and it must suck to feel sad! I love being happy!

Crying is a good realise of tied up emotions. Some people can relese emotion without any effort, and others tie it up inside themselves until they explode.

Its better that they release that emotion is tears then in violence, so be supportive to the tears, and do not mock or belittle- it could be worse.

Oh, and I cry a few times a year, mostly over lost moments.

Well I am kind of like your best friend but I dont cry EVERY day. Although I cry when I am happy, sad and frustrated. Maybe on average about once a week. My husband thinks I cry too much, but I think I like who I am.

The only time I know I cried a lot was when my fiancee left for duty...that was the second saddest day of my life. First day was when my dad passed away. But my tears don't compromise my strength

It's been a very rough few years for me so I'd have to say I cry at least weekly. I'm looking forward to some tears of joy instead of the more recent tears of sorrow. Gee now you've got me thinking about it, I may have to log off and go cry it out!!!
