i agree no jelly in lines rubber will dregrade over time biggest thing to be concerned about is if its carbureted gas sitting in the carb can cause alot of damage but thats why they sell rebuild kits best bet if you know youre gonna be storing it for a long time like more than a year drain the tanks and if its carbureted clean out the carb

The fuel will lose its volatile components over time leaving oily residue, which will not make the car run. Over some years you should not have to replace anything other than any rubber pipe that has degraded. The metal fuel lines should be okay.

Rust is something you also have to consider when a car sits up. That "jelly" stuff is a pain, but can be cleaned out and parts do not necessarily need replacing. I would start worrying at about one year. Cars do not need to be "winterized" they need to be driven periodically to be maintained.

Diesel will gel over time Gasoline will not. It will weaken in time but were talking years......If it is in a clean tank I wouldn't worry about it for months. If you are storing the car you should run the fuel out of it. this will preserve the components.
