Women are fertile when they're on their periods, but they are THE MOST fertile 2 weeks after the period has finished.

Part of the proof that women are indeed fertile during a period is the intense "amorous" feelings many have even though menses is happening. They have a strong urge to have sex, even though most think of having sex during a period as horrifyingly disgusting, lol.

It is possible for a woman to become pregnant while on her period however, it is not likely. Ovulation *generally* occurs in the middle of the cycle so the closer to the period the less chance of pregnancy. However, some women ovulate at a different time in their cycle or twice ina cycle so unless charting is done you can't say that pregnancy for sure wouldn't happen. Hope this Helps!

No! When a woman is menstruating, she is simply releasing the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) that was thickened in case of a possible pregnancy. With that, she is supposed to shed the egg that was not fertilized, but depending on what part of her cycle she is in, she can get pregnant while menstruating (this happened to a family member of mine who didn't feel it was necessary to use contraceptives since she was "on her period", and her 3-year-old son is the result).

That statement is very false. Every woman is different. I have gotten pregnant before when I was on my period. I was totally shocked because I was also under the assumption that was a safe time. I have a short luteal phase, and hubby's spermies stayed alive long enough to meet my egg.

i love it when people give answers to something they know nothing about...
it's possible to get pregnant at any point during your monthly cycle, even while on your period. it is however less likely. i wouldn't take the chances, unless you want a baby, b/c it can happen.
