I am going to celebrate my Engagement in Amsterdam in March. We'll be staying a weekend and i would like to know what are the most important things to see.

I am interested in Museums, Art, Architecture, everything that is related to Culture

In Amsterdam:
Rijksmuseum - you have to see the Night Watch by Rembrandt.
Van Gogh Museum - incredible collection
Anne Frank House - very impressive.
Tour along the canals
Hortus Botanicus (Botanical Gardens) great exhibits
Heineken Brewery
Visit a Diamond Factory
Flower Market
Our Lord in the Attic Church (relics and great altar)

surroundings:
Volendam a beautiful fisherman´s town
Marken where people still wears traditional clothes.
Alkmaar with its cheese market.

Since you are interested in museums and art, you should definitely go to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, and for shopping I would go to the Kalverstraat. Also, the Dam square is very nice. If you are not renting a car, the public transportation is amazing in Amsterdam. When taking the ''tram'' (metro) I would suggest to take line 5 or 16 they go almost everywhere through the shopping area in Amsterdam.

Have fun in Amsterdam, it is truly amazing there.
