if you are home alone and you know for sure that nobody will be coming home......when you take your shower...do you still close and lock the door or do you leave it open?

Leave it open, unless for some reason I want the bathroom to get all steamy (like when I have a cold). I thought this was a good question. Star for you!

I'm glad you asked this question, 'cos each time I go to the bathroom when I'm alone, I spend a few moments pondering over whether to lock the door or leave it open.
Most of the times, I leave it open so that I could hear if the phone rings or someone's at the door. However, if I plan to take a quick shower, I lock the door 'cos I don't want to have water splashed out of the bathroom when I lather in haste.

Yes,
I would always use caution even when home alone, because we live in a crazy world now! and you never know if someone may break into your home while you are taking a shower. So! I would think that it would be safe to still close and lock your doors.

Well if we're talking about the bathroom door I leave it open because I have a fear that someone might come in and jump out at me like in scary movies :) But I always lock my apartment door when I am home alone. I'm a scardy cat, I know.

I always close and lock the door, no matter who is or isn't there. I'm kinda anal about that. I just feel vunerable when I'm in the shower. I lock my bedroom door and my bathroom door. Don't really know why. Plus, I grew up with two brothers so I always locked the door anytime I was in the bathroom; gotta keep them boys from trying to steal my bathroom time.

I live alone, and I do not lock my door.
I still close it to keep the steam out of the apt.
When living with others, it is just a good habit to always lock the door. It's kinda like using your turn signals even when there's nobody on the road.

I leave it open unless the apartment is cold, or the dog is trying to jump into the shower with me and I have to keep him out (he doesn't do this very often, though).

If it's cold, i close the unlocked door to keep in the heat/steam. if it's hot i leave the door wide open! Aaahh, nice breeze!

I leave it open. It lets the steam escape and keeps me from having to deal with a lot of cleanup afterward. Besides, anyone who would walk in would be scared out of their wits at the sight of my ugliness in the "alltogether".
