What?? Look. If he got it taken out by your State...contact the office that handles this and see if he can get his next payment adjusted. But, usually they are on target with the amount that is pulled out. Is it back pay?? Another thing, does he give the money directly to the mother of his child? If he does, he needs to communicate this issue with her...and he needs to go and try to work out an agreement with her--he may just have to say, "I over paid last month...I'm readjusting next month/week/whatever." But! How long has he over paid? How much? I mean, come on! Remember, it is HIS CHILD that we are talking about...and he can easily make sure that the money has been used toward purposes and things for his child. I'm not sure what other situations might be involved with this...but, make sure the remedy it is not placing the child in a worse situation.

The CSED does not often repay ANY money for ANY reason. I have researched child support for many years and the only thing that has been steadily consistent is that if you are a man, and you owe or have owed child support, you are always going to be taken advantage of. There are no support agencies out there to help dads, no affordable legal representation, no fairness. You will need to take a deep breath, and forget it. I have heard of men paying their full obligation, and then the csed turned around and told them to pay it again, because of a CSED mistake. The guy couldn't find much if any records of money he had paid, so he was ordered to pay AGAIN! He had no recourse, he took it to court but the court said their hands were tied because he lacked evidence. If you pay child support, KEEP ALL records of it, and never throw them away. When you are buried, have them buried with you. Or Else it may come to haunt you some day. LOL!!!

Ha good luck. Most of the time the agency does not refund money unless it was wrongly taken. He will receive credit. There is no doubt his support will be raised. Every three years the mother is allowed to appeal for more support. Let it hang there as credit.
You never going to get it back. And if I was you I would not throw it up in the mothers face everytime she asked for school clothing money or sports fees. She could get you in the long run with another court petition for more support.
Your husbands support should be also income executed. This way if he receives over time or in increase in pay, he will not end up owing his left foot if ever another court petition. By law he is to report all income changes. Income execution relieves nasty errors like this.

Well that depends on if the Child Support Agency that deals with your husbands case is prompt or if they take there sweet time. If they are prompt you should receive it in about 2-3 weeks. If they are not prompt, obviously a lot longer. But I would encourage him to call frequently if things are usually delayed because the more you call the more they know you're not going to stop calling and than they will do their job quicker.

If he is sending money manually and it is not deducted automatically from his pay, he can simply withhold support until it's balanced. This will work only if the court order stipulates an annual support (which is then divided by 12 months or some other division). The state typically won't care how much you send, when, as long as the full amount is paid by year's end.

That would depend on the jurisdiction (where you are) and the circumstances. If they took excess money after the child turned 18, you have more of a chance.
I will say that when the child support people took too much of my biodad's money for 3 extra months after my sister turned 18, he said "no problem."
Just curious: Are you resenting that he makes this payout, or what?

He won't get any money back from having paid child support. He was legally obligated to pay child support and bravo if he did, there are too many dead-beat dads out here!

If the over-payment is substantial, he will get back all of it, eventually. It may take 6 months to a year, but he will get it back. However, if it is not substantial, all he has to do is to inform the court of the error and then reduce the amount of the next cheque accordingly.

Depends on the amount and the state. If he calls the CS recovery office they can tell him what he needs to do to get his money back.
