Okay, so me and my husband must have been bored. We got into an argument. He said trolls and lepracauns are the same thing. I know they are not. I said trolls live under bridges. He of course laughed at me. He said trolls are not real so how can you say they always live under bridges? I said that lepracauns do not live under brigdes. So he asked where they live? I do not know. I assume at the end of the rainbow with there pot of gold. I then told him that lepracauns do not look like trolls. He said have you seen the movie lepracuans? I have not. SOOOO we are very sane inteligent people who obviously were bored. Tell me why trolls and lepracauns are different and how I can tell them they are not the same.

troll is a fearsome member of a mythical anthropomorph race from Scandinavia. Their role ranges from fiendish giants – similar to the ogres of England – to a devious, more human-like folk of the wilderness, living underground in hills, caves or mounds. In Orkney and Shetland tales, trolls are called trows, adopted from the Norse language when these islands were settled by Vikings.

Nordic literature, art and music from the romantic era and onwards has adapted trolls in various manners – often in the form of an aboriginal race, endowed with oversized ears and noses. From here, as well as from Scandinavian fairy tales such as Three Billy Goats Gruff, trolls have achieved international recognition, and in modern fantasy literature and role-playing games, trolls are featured to the extent of being stock characters

In Irish mythology, a leprechaun (Modern Irish: leipreachán) is a type of male faerie said to inhabit the island of Ireland. They are a class of "faerie folk" associated in Irish mythology and folklore, as with all faeries, with the Tuatha Dé Danann and other quasi-historical races said to have inhabited Ireland before the arrival of the Celts.

Leprechauns and other creatures of Irish mythology are often associated with "faerie forts" or "faerie rings" — often the sites of ancient (Celtic or pre-Celtic) earthworks or drumlins.

They usually take the form of old men who enjoy partaking in mischief. Their trade is that of a cobbler or shoemaker. They are said to be very rich, having many treasure crocks buried during war-time. [1] According to legend, if anyone keeps an eye fixed upon one, he cannot escape, but the moment the eye is withdrawn he vanishes.

Trolls are ugly people-eating creatures that live under bridges. Leprechauns are decked out in green, very short, and generally robust creatures with an alcoholic kind of hue to their face. They guard the pot o' gold at the end of a rainbow.
You're right.

LOL. Me and my husband have conversations like that too, we both love Superman and agree that he would kick Batman's sorry @$$ within seconds. Anyways, your right, trolls live under bridges and leprauchaunts live at the ends of rainbows. The story of the three billy goats and the Lucky Carms leprachaun can back up your theory! Good luck!

Trolls wear pointy hats and live under bridges and are mean.

Lepracauns always wear green and are full of mischief but not mean. And can sometimes be good luck.

wow, you guys have amazing conversations! lol I would've never thought to discuss something like that.

They are NOT the same. Trolls are evil and leprachauns are just sneaky. They don't want anyone taking their gold.

:)
