This is an interesting question!
It's not exactly a "germ" persay, but it's due to the type of bacteria you have in your mouth. Uncovering all the bugs responsible for good and bad breath could be a daunting task. About 75 to 100 different kinds of germs live in each person's mouth. You have more bacteria in your mouth than cells in your body.
Halitosis, or bad breath, is caused by food particles trapped in our mouths. When food remains in the mouth, it becomes a breeding ground for the bacteria that can cause bad breath.
In order to have fresh breath, it is important to brush teeth, tongue, and gums. Unless you have an internal problem causing this problem, this will effectively remove much of the harmful bacteria that causes bad breath.
