Taht wil equal to: [(x-2)(x-4)] / [(x-2)(x+2)]
after the x-2 on top cancel with the x-2 at the bottom. the answer will be: x-4/x+2

= (x -4) (x-2) / ( (x -2) (x + 2) ) = (x-4)/(x + 2) for x != 2 (undefined for x = 2)

= (x + 2 - 6)/(x + 2) = 1 - 6/(x + 2) for x != 2, -2

Factorize top and bottom

(x-4)(x-2)
(x-2)(x+2)

(x-2) cancels to make 1

so we now have

(x-4)/(x+2)
