gaining or losing weight causes alot of changes with your hormones. the acne is coming from the hormonal imbalance that is being caused from her gaining weight. ask her to start eating healthier, exercize, and go to a dermatologist to further discuss the problem.

Does she produce more sweat? Could be that there is an irritation with her skin rubbing the clothing. Maybe she's developed an allergy. Have a Dr. Check things out...might be an easy fix. Maybe he can suggest a weigh loss plan.

it might be an increase of sweat...or maybe she is not rinsing off well enough in the shower...sometimes if you do not completely rinse off the soap it gets caught in the pores.tell her to rinse reallly well.and also have the water be cold at the end of the shower to close the pores.any type of cleanser with some type of alcohol in it will dry them up.clean and clear is a good brand to try.

Hormones cause lots of trouble, if this is only a hormonal problem then a dr. could solve it... or, maybe she's been eating incorrectly, too much fat in her diet.... also maybe she showers with too warm water? that dries the skin and causes pimples.
