You spend time trying to cover them up before you have a job interview. If the point is to be rebellious and have something that no one else has, good luck with that because I can walk through a shopping mall and can count at least 75% of people have one or the other. So you're not being very different. Not only that, they're expensive and could cause infections. What's the point then?

I am a 45-year-old mother of a 17-year-old son. I have never liked tattoos and would not get one. I did however, give parental consent for my son to get a tattoo because I now understand why people get them. It is a form of expression - not rebellion - to say something meaningful. My son's tattoo represents his attitude about life. He put a lot of thought into it and purposely chose a tattoo that he knew he could live with, no matter how his views on life would change through the years. For many people, tattoos honor someone they care about, represent views on certain things, or are just an expression about their personality.

err are you 15? People don't get piercings to rebel or to look different. They're not expensive at all and body jewellery is quite cheap to buy. So what you're saying is if something doesn't look different or unique, don't buy it? That rules out just about every clothing store, hairstyle, shoe shop on the planet. Nobody is unique, every fashion trend has been done, recycled and used again. I have my eyebrow, nose, navel, ears and err...other stuff pierced. I did it because it looks nice and some of the body jewellery is so pretty. I didn't do it to be different, most people nowadays have at least one piercing anyway. I don't take my piercings out for work, I work in a shop that sells clothing and body jewellery so it's good advertising for them. Since I'm also their designer, I get to wear whatever the hell I want to. As for the tattoos, it's no different from keeping a diary. Your body is a canvas that represents your life, your dreams, your special moments. It's art not rebellion.

why do people cheat, steal, lie, or kill??? Its all a choice that the individual makes...for some its a form of expression, and some just like it...and i agree with the price thing, thats why when i got mine i made sure that was what i wanted and i got them in nice spots that i could also cover up

Another thing when i got my first tatoo there was sign in the room that said "welcome to your new addiction" and i have to admit i wasnt done with my first, when i was already thinking of what i wanted to get done next!!

tattoos and piercings are "personal" decorations, not much different from the clothes or other things that we like to have

It's ones choice. They see it on TV, in the mall. They like to do it. Simple as that ;)
