Hey, in the eyes of most people Vista is a no go right now but even though I know i should wait for a service pack I've bought it and I love it so I'd advise it (get an OEM Version). Graphics are always a bonus GeForce 8800 series are good for around £400.
As for ram, go for about 2Gb all together, this will have no trouble running anything (matched pairs that is). Hope this helps

Sell your existing PC and go to Mesh Computers and buy one with all the money you have. You will get Vista, a dual core Processor a 19" TFT monitor, lots of ram and you could upgrade the graphics card if your a games player.

If you're gaming, get a 2GB RAM and you're sorted. I wouldn't get Vista unless you have nothing else to get. I think a new graphics card would help a wee bit too but it all depends on what you're using the PC for. If it's for working on, get Vista.

You could also get an LCD monitor if you really want but I prefer the nice big ones because they're easier to see. Get yourself a new keyboard and an optical mouse too.

wait 6months or so
and £500.00p
will buy a middle of the range computer
with vista pre-installed
and/or

as an option the vista disc can ship with the new pc
as a oem version
you will pay a lot less for the vista cd
a lot less than if you are
just buying vista as a
seperate purchase
(full retail price)

ps:a factory ready made pc(dell)
have a lot of restrictions when it
comes to repairing or replacing parts
u are better buying a pc made from
different manafacturer components
that way it is universal/standard when it comes
to fixing things or upgrading
and you can look around for cheaper
installments and are not tied down to
one manafacturer and waiting for repair of pc

More RAM first. Then do the graphics card. Then a monitor. Forget Vista for now.

In this order...
1. More RAM.
2. New Vidcard.
3. New Keyboard
4. Vista if you really want it...But keep in mind, not all games or PB (PunkBuster) is supported yet by Vista!!!
This means you can't play some games online at all with the Vista OS.

Dont get Vista! Get Kubuntu for free at www.kubuntu.org Vista will cause compatability problems, your sound and video card probably wont work, neither will your programs. Spend your money on something more usefull than Vista like donating to billionaires.

you have enough money to buy almost all of the upgrades you've asked for, depending on how high end you want, the other option would be to just purchase a brand new computer from dell with what you want in it, and if dell isnt available where you live there may be another similar company that will supply one at similar cost.

Depending on your current RAM amounts,
you should get RAM.
Do not get VISTA as its DRMs will kill you in the end.
I'd prefer to spend my money on a new MAC, as they are better. They allow for no viruses,
and you can run Windows software on them as well.
