It appears the Kurds, Sunni and Shiite have always been rivals and have always brutally fought and killed each other. Al Maliki seems to be promoting Shiite, rather than treating all factions equally. Can democracy be forced on the Iraqi, when they really want their own religion to control Iraq? At what point should we spend stop spending American money and lives to do this? Our country is already beyond broke and our own people suffering. When is enough done for the Iraqi?

Tom, you did not answer the question. When have we done enough? When our own country is broken beyond repair...will it then be time to stop?

well... I don't think they could have voted for a theocracy... that wasn't on the ballot...
but, what if they do in the future... nothing to stop them when we leave... and I wouldn't be surprised... clerics carry a huge deal of power in Iraq and the middle east...

They haven't always fought and killed each other, for the last thousand years they have lived peacefully side by side in communties, as they do in other countries. It appears you are misguided by the media. The majority of the country wants a democratic government, seeing as 70% of them voted in the election, the only problem is the minority of people blowing things up. If they wanted religious rule they would have become a theocracy, they had that choice, our forces are only their at the request of the Democratically elected Iraqi government.

The Iraqis freely voted for and approved their own constitution. The Iraqis freely elected their own representative government. They could have voted for a theocracy, they didn't.
But why let facts, truth, and reality get in the way of your "hate Bush" religion?

Iraq has always needed to find its own brand of goverment. Any attempt to set up a puppet government by the U.S. will be met with hostility. That is the answer that I gave back in Sept. that is the answer I give now. With the ever esculation of violence I think I am more right then ever.

70% of the country seemed to like the idea. Based on their last election. You fail to understand that freedom is the natural aspiration of the human spirit.
