then wouldnt we have sharp claws, fang teeth, and the ability to hunt down our prey like lions and other predators do? Instead, we have imposable thumbs to gather fruits and vegetables. If a human had to kill and butcher their own meat, would they?

Check out your eye teeth and your rear molars and wisdom teeth, they are for chewing, not munching on berries

Early man WAS designed for hunting, gathering, AND could consume raw prey. But we can also reason and are designed to try to find new ways to make our lives easier. So, when the first man (or woman) who rubbed two sticks together and got a little spark thought "Hey I wonder how food would taste over this." That was the end of our days of eating raw meat and therefore built up an intolerance for it. And of course time went on and now in modern times somone else has the job of slaughtering our meat for us and we can just go to the supermarket and buy as much of it as we need. And so ended the days of hunting for survival. You are correct we have imposable thumbs designed for reaching grabbing fruits and veggies, but remember we are also OMNIvores. And as far as I know we always have been. So we had to be equipped with the resources to obtain both meat AND foilage. However, even though we may go to the store to get our produce as well, we STILL use our imposable thumbs on a daily basis for work, play or whatever. We STILL are using them to reach and grab something. So you see its not really a matter entirely of how we are designed, its a matter of how we have evolved since our early ancestors. Once we made life easier for ourselves there was no need to have the animalistic traits we once did. If you don't use it, you lose it. :-p

Umm...we do hunt and kill and butcher our own meat. We don't need the traditional features of a hunter because we have the ability to use tools. We are omnivorous and need nutrients from meats and plants. Yes, many of the essential nutrients can be substituted by plants, however those plants are not indigenous to all regions. If you are a vegetarian or want to become one, seek the advice of a nutritionist so that you do not suffer from a vitamin or mineral deficiency. I recommend the same to those who eat primarily meat.

The mere fact that humans survived before they discovered agriculture means that they were likely omnivorous foragers, eating whatever they could find, be it berries, roots, or animals. We do not have the teeth of herbivores, we have sharp incisors which allow us to tear meat, it we were only supposed to eat veggies, we would have different teeth and digestive system.

Because we developed the use of tools, these are our substitutes for fangs and claws, and I must say, for the most part they are more effective.

we do have fang teeth. They're called incisors.
we do have the ability to hunt. In fact, we are the best hunters on the planet.
Humans do butcher their own meat. We don't outsource this work to chimpanzees.
"Imposable thumbs"? you mean opposable thumbs.

You're argument is incredibly weak. I give you D-. Try doing some research next time.

How is it that we are butchers for killing and eating animals, yet they do it to each other all the time? Lets go after those inhumane animals as well, how dare they eat meat! Oh, I see, since they have claws they must be made to eat meat, it's not like the claws could be meant for climbing or anything else.
You should call PETA, they are loaded with maniacs that don't make any sense with their arguements, just like you!

Humans were designed to eat both. Therefore, we are considered carnivorous and omnivorous. We have sharper teeth in the front used for tearing meat, and duller molars in the back used for grinding. A ton of people kill and butcher their own meat. I know probably more than 25 farmers and ranchers that slaughter their own beef, pork, poultry, and lamb.

What are you another vegan or vegetarian trying to push non-meat-eating tendencies down people who enjoy it's throats?
People have finger nails, sharp teeth, and the ability to hunt down prey...and the brains to create a better way to do so. And the brains equipt with the intelligence to COOK IT FIRST!

if a person believes in evolution then the reason is right there.. as human evolved they lost the need for sharp fngs, even though if ya look at your teeth then there are still some pointy ones in there two from the middle. and we used to have claws thats why we have nails.

but this is only if a person believes in evolution, if not, then I'm sorry I have no answer for you..

but I do hope you get the answer you want.

we humans have a brain, which pretty much counts for everything, else we were meant to be carnivores or omnivores both in fact, but we are smart enough not to have claws and fangs and sharp teeth, i don't wanna make out with a girl who has sharp claws and some razor sharp teeth lol
