I used to be in reading and we read books and did writing prompts. Now I'm in readers and writers and we do the exact same thing

It is basically the same. The title is a little more accurate now, plus, an added bonus, it sounds better. It is similar to the prune industry changing the name of prunes to dried plums, it connotes a better image.

readers - reads but that does not mean that they are good writers or that they enjoy reading and writng a lot.They could also lack those skills.
writers - enjoys writing
reading - is when you are actulally reading
